This Is Us
We're big believers in the power of a good coffee and a friendly place to enjoy it
Mel, Ant + Mollie.
Red Bridge Coffee, so named for the bridge that scores of travellers cross each day going to or from the golden sands of Waimarama or Ocean Beach, had been in the making for 18 months, while Mel and Ant were still living in Palmerston North. Mel with a corporate background and long career as a makeup artist saw huge potential in the corner site.
Ant a third-generation Hawke’s Bay farmer and former project manager furnished her with the family connection, and the details. “Apparently, at the turn of last century, there was a 10-stand woolshed on here the wool was transported down the river on a barge,” he says. More recently, it’s been grazing land for horses.
Real People. Real Country.
From Our Hearts
to Your Cup.
We opened the gates on March 10th, 2017 and from that moment on our lives have been enriched forever.
We are truely grateful for our community, our visitors come from local surrounding areas, and a number of those come out to us regularly from Hastings/Napier, around New Zealand and across the globe.
We have a huge extended family, and you will feel that family spirit when you visit.

Mollie is our Coffee Dog, a now 12yr old German Short-Haired Pointer who has become our mascot. You'll find her wandering table to table greeting her friends and fur friends. She'll give you those puppy dog eyes too, don't be fooled, it's just for pats & human treats, which she knows she's not allowed.

Our Team are mostly local and with a range of ages. School age to Adult, many were customers prior to working for us and really have absorbed our Red Bridge Experience, and it shows in their work ethic. They all make exceptional coffee and will provide you with the best service. We are very grateful to have the awesome team we have.

Ant & Mel, now 7 years on have a few projects in the pipeline for the growth of Red Bridge Coffee corner. So keep coming out! You never know what you might see. Mel's fave saying...'There's never a dull moment at Red Bridge'.
